About Get Lost

Get Lost was born in March 2020, at the start of COVID-19 lockdown number one in the heart of Australia’s creative state, Victoria.

Get Lost is a Mount Alexander Shire Council initiative developed in partnership with the many, many creatives who live, work and play here.

We invite you to get to know our creative community, explore our fantastic venues, get to an event or browse our marketplace – there’s an awful lot going on here and Get Lost is here to help you navigate it all.

If you’re a local creative individual or enterprise - established or just starting out - please sign up to become a Get Lost member - we’ll support you to build and activate your profile if you’re keen for others to find you.

More about our creative shire

Mount Alexander Shire is a rural community with our largest town of Castlemaine located 90 minutes from Melbourne. Some say Castlemaine is just an extension of Melbourne in the bush. UNESCO threw its weight behind our region’s creativity in late 2019.

Together, our community has worked incredibly hard to respond to the significant impacts of the pandemic on our valued arts, culture and creative industries (we’re still waiting for COVID-19 to get lost...!).

The Victorian State Government supported our community’s ongoing collaborative efforts to develop the Get Lost platform in 2021, through the Regional Recovery Fund – thanks so much team.

What we're currently up to...

What you’re experience on the Get Lost platform now is the beta version of our stage two development. Over coming weeks and months, you’ll see more and more functionality and content emerge so please subscribe to our newsletter to get the latest. Please bear with us while we work through those pesky bugs and fixes!

With full support from our Senior Elder, Uncle Rick Nelson, this initiative takes place on, and reflects our values for, Djaara Country – the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung.
