Castlemaine Circus offers engaging and skilful classes for all ages in Circus Skills, Aerial Arts and Parkour. Students can take safe risks, support each other and have fun. We celebrate diversity and provide a safe physical and social space for all ages, abilities, genders and cultures.

We have 30 classes for over 350 students each week. At any age students can learn all the fabulous skills and techniques of circus, aerial and parkour in a positive, collaborative environment. We strive to develop physical, social and emotional skills including strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, self confidence, trust and creative expression.

Castlemaine CIrcus employs 15 amazing trainers from the region including professional circus performers and parkour experts. Our trainers have performed in Australia’s best circus companies, and have toured nationally and internationally. We have created a pathway for our dedicated students to become junior trainers. They are mentored in the techniques for teaching in a strength based model, provide our classes with a high student/teacher ratio and create a youthful connection with students.

Experienced and motivated students become part of our Circus Troupe and create awesome performances to share with the Castlemaine Community. The troupes have the opportunity to perform within a professional circus environment and have a pathway towards tertiary/professional Circus studies. All our students also create annual performances and presentations for families and friends.

Get creative. Get Physical.

Goods Shed Arts is managed by Castlemaine State Festival (CSF), who have been committed to the activity of creative communities locally, nationally and internationally for over 40 years.

In April 2020, the CSF team moved their headquarters to the Castlemaine Goods Shed and are sharing this wonderful asset with the local creative community and beyond, offering cultural events throughout the year.

Goods Shed Arts has air-conditioned and furnished facilities that include a creative space, gathering rooms, offices and break out spaces. In addition to partnerships, there will be the capacity to accommodate long-term co-working tenancies, casual desk space and venue hire, all with access to reliable high-speed internet.
