The Phee Broadway Theatre's Foyer Exhibition Program features a selection of local artists, and for the next six weeks, Jennifer Sharpe’s beautiful tapestries adorn the walls.
Jennifer Sharpe is a woven tapestry artist whose work is inspired by life experiences, and Australian flora and fauna. She weaves large scale to miniature tapestries, and experiences weaving as a grounding meditation.
Managed by Mount Alexander Shire Council, the Phee Broadway Theatre is located in the heart of Castlemaine's cultural precinct. The theatre was named in honor of Phee Broadway OAM, the Festival Manager of the Castlemaine State Festival for the first 18 years of its life. The Phee is used for theatre productions, live music, dance performances, films, touring shows, conferences and school productions. The Phee can seat up to 230 and shares a foyer with the Castlemaine Library that regularly hosts exhibitions offered to local artists through an EOI process at the start of each year.
