Buda’s own Garden Curator, Carol Henderson, presents a one day spring gardening workshop.

Spring Ramble – Spring in the Buda garden is just glorious, with new flowers to discover every week. Explore some of these hardy and drought tolerant plant treasures with our Garden Curator, Carol Henderson. <p> Carol is a horticulturist, permaculture designer and teacher, who is passionate about urban food production, she finds all plants and gardens fascinating and regularly runs workshops for CERES, schools and local councils. She will discuss spring garden maintenance and share what our garden team are up to this season. Afternoon tea, children’s activity and plant sale included. Working with children, youth and adults from all walks of life, Carol tailors each session to suit the needs and interests of each group. Her style is friendly and highly interactive so you won’t be sitting still for long!

Buda is an authentic goldfields villa house and garden located in Castlemaine Central Victoria. Named after Budapest by its Hungarian owner, Ernest Leviny, it was home to the creative Leviny family for 118 years and houses their significant intact collection of furniture, art works and personal belongings. Come to Buda and enjoy walking through the historic house where you will be transported to another era, in this Museums Australia accredited museum. Wander three acres of heritage garden featuring original plantings and structures, including the bird aviary, tennis pavilion and grape pergola, along with many original garden ornaments created by the Leviny family members.
